Classroom guidance lessons
Lessons are presented to each grade level as a preventative measure. In other words, these lessons provide the groundwork for the school year for behavioral and academic expectations. They are presented by the School Counselor and are fun and interactive. They often involve books, discussions, and hands-on activites to reinforce various skills. At Ecoff this year, we are implementing Social and Emotional Learning (please see the SEL tab under "School Wide Programs for more information), in which teachers will host class meetings surrounding these topics. As the Counselors, we will be expanding on some of the topics taught in class meetings for grades K-5. Classroom guidance lessons will take place in September-December. After winter break, teachers will have the opportunity to request specific lessons based on classroom needs.
